On Hwy 160 and Juniper Lane: The Alamosa / Great Sand Dunes KOA Journey is 3.5 miles east of Alamosa at mile marker 237 on the north side of Hwy 160.

The Alamosa KOA will be open for the annual Sandhill Crane Festival March 8-10. We have RV sites and cabins available. If the weather is warm enough we will open a few tent spots. Please make your reservations soon to ensure you get a great spot with a nice view!
Our KOA is just 20 minutes from the Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge where tens of thousands of cranes stop every year as they migrate from their winter home in New Mexico to various parts of the US. It is an amazing sight to behold and a must do for bird lovers. In addition to seeing the cranes there are tours, events and a festival in Monte Vista. This year our KOA staff will be at the Crane Craft Fair with all our new crane shirts, hoodies, bags, and puzzles. Hope to see you in March! Deb and les
